Joel Laslett Pott

Joel Pott is best known as the frontman of the multi-platinum indie band Athlete, acclaimed for crafting hits such as Wires, Half Light, Superhuman Touch, El Salvador, Twenty Four Hours, You Got The Style, Chances, and Hurricane across four studio albums. Athlete’s standout single Wires earned the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Song.

These days Joel is a highly sought-after songwriter and producer, collaborating with a wide range of artists including Joy Crookes, Jack Savoretti, Shura, Tom Walker, Elderbrook, and Mabel.

In 2017, he was nominated for Breakthrough Producer of the Year by the Music Producers Guild. His songwriting has garnered two additional Ivor Novello Award nominations: in 2015 for co-writing George Ezra’s global hit Budapest, and in 2019 for the chart-topping Shotgun. Joel also co-wrote and produced Ezra’s #1 album Gold Rush Kid.
